Business Central is a modern enterprise resource planning system suitable for use across multiple industries. Its modules—such as finance, inventory management, procurement, and HR—operate within a unified system. This ensures process transparency and real-time data availability. Finance

The Finance module forms the backbone of Business Central; it handles general ledger accounting, accounts receivable and payable, bank account management, cash flow, foreign currency and fixed asset accounting, petty cash, and customer and vendor advance management (as part of the Hungarian localization), budget planning, and the preparation of financial reports, thereby promoting transparency and compliance in the company’s financial operations.

Manufacturing

The Business Central Manufacturing module supports the planning, management, and tracking of production processes, with integrated financial connectivity. It manages core manufacturing data, such as bills of materials (BOMs) and routings.
It supports the management of production orders, material and capacity planning (MRP/MPS), and reporting on production processes. It enables inventory reservation, the management of work-in-progress and finished goods, and the tracking of scrap and losses.
The module provides cost accounting and cost calculation, as well as financial mapping of manufacturing processes in the general ledger. Real-time data supports efficient production management and accurate decision-making.

Warehouse Management

The Business Central Inventory Management module provides integrated, real-time inventory and logistics management with tight financial integration. It manages multi-level warehouse structures (warehouse, zone, shelf), receiving, putaway, picking, and shipping, as well as internal goods movements and inventory counting. It supports item and serial number tracking, warehouse documents, and approval processes. It offers both simple and advanced warehouse management, the latter with guided putaway and picking. It can be integrated with external systems and barcode solutions. The module provides real-time inventory valuation, automatic posting, and multiple inventory valuation methods, ensuring that warehouse operations are directly reflected in financial statements.

Procurement

The Business Central Purchasing module supports the management of the entire purchasing process, from the creation of supplier requests to invoicing, with tight financial integration. It manages supplier master data, prices, discounts, and contract terms.
It supports the management of purchase orders, quotes, and master agreements, as well as automatic replenishment recommendations (MRP). It enables accurate tracking of goods receipt, invoicing, and costs. The module ensures inventory and financial integration, so that purchasing transactions are immediately reflected in inventory and the general ledger. It also supports approval processes and dimension-based cost analysis.

Human Resources

The Business Central Human Resources module primarily supports administrative and record-keeping tasks related to employees. It manages employee master data (legal, financial, organizational) as well as the organizational structure (department, position, supervisor).
It supports the recording of absences and leave, the accounting of employee expenses with dimension-based breakdowns, as well as the management of HR documents and approval processes. The module is tightly integrated with finance: it ensures general ledger connectivity, cost center/project-based analysis, and the import of payroll data from external systems. It also supports GDPR compliance, access control, and the protection of sensitive data.

Filing and Document Management

The Business Central Document Management feature enables structured, searchable, and auditable document management. Incoming documents can be recorded upon arrival and stored as scanned attachments, from which purchase invoices can be created, or they can be generated based on data retrieved from the Online Invoice system. The system supports the electronic recording and attachment of sales and purchase framework agreements, making them easily accessible. A separate filing module (add-on) is available as an option, which manages incoming and outgoing filing, allowing for the creation of filing entries and the attachment of documents. The process can be automated, for example, through the automatic filing of outgoing invoices and credit notes, and can also be integrated into approval workflows. Filing can be controlled via permissions, ensuring secure and controlled document management.
